Information for Employers
WHAT: Employers who hire eligible Alameda County job seekers will receive an 80% subsidy of wages and 80% of the employer’s costs for Social Security, and Medicare until September 30, 2010.
If you hire through AC HIRE:
- You will collaborate with staff dedicated to meeting your employment needs.
- We will refer pre-qualified candidates and you are under no obligation to hire.
- You will receive monthly wage reimbursement within 5 days of submitting your invoice.
WHO: Employers who hire an Alameda County job seeker can receive the subsidy if:
- They hire an eligible person.
- They do not displace an existing employee.
Eligible job seekers must be from a needy family defined as:
- CalWORKs recipients.
- Families with income not exceeding 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
- Non-custodial parents with income not exceeding 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
